Workshop - (be)longing: Where We Begin & End (in person)

  • Bethlem Gallery Monks Orchard Road Beckenham, England, BR3 3BX United Kingdom (map)

Image: Jules Cunningham

This session is part of (be)longing, a Bethlem Gallery project supporting artist and Arts & Health Hub Director Daniel Regan to explore the theme of belonging in the lead up to his solo exhibition at the gallery in spring 2026.

In this workshop we will be exploring our identity and the idea of the self through a combination of movement of the body and drawing. The session will focus on ways to think about our ‘edges’ – where we begin and end. In the session we will reflect on how we might shift and change shape in response to our environment and others, exploring ideas of what it means to belong, and what it means to fit in or stand out.

Jules Cunningham is an artist based in South East London. They have worked in the UK internationally with Merce Cunningham Dance Company, and Michael Clark Company and since 2017 have been creating work for Julie Cunningham & Company. Their visual art work has been exhibited at the Long Gallery at the Maudsley Hospital.
