This session is part of (be)longing, a Bethlem Gallery project supporting artist and Arts & Health Hub Director Daniel Regan to explore the theme of belonging in the lead up to his solo exhibition at the gallery in spring 2026.
From autumn 2024 – spring 2026 artist and Arts & Health Hub Director Daniel Regan has been commissioned as Bethlem Gallery’s Artist Researcher in Residence to curate and deliver a public engagement programme on the theme of belonging. The programme builds upon Daniel’s long-held interest in belonging, expanding into topics such as home, family, heritage and queerness.
Initiated and supported by Bethlem Gallery, this conference follows a series of creative workshops and online in-conversation talks informing the works that Daniel is creating in the lead up to his solo exhibition at the gallery in the spring of 2026.
On the day you will hear from Daniel on his motivations for the project and a bit more about his works made as part of the programme so far. There will also be talks and film screenings that focus on belonging and family, belonging to self and others and belonging to community. You can also choose from a range of one hour creative taster workshops on topics like the languages of belonging and mapping belonging.
