Photographer/ Charity Co-ordinator
Rob White Photography/ Sporting Memories Network
My name is Rob White, I have been a commercial photographer for over 30 years. Most of my work has been in the food sector for books, magazines, supermarkets, and fast food chains. During this time there’s been an explosion of food imagery, to the point where it’s one of the most frequently posted subjects on Instagram. In the past 4 years I’ve also devoted part of my working week to a new role in the charity sector, with an organisation called Sporting Memories Network. SMN, is a nationwide charity which uses sporting reminiscence to help people who might be suffering from dementia, isolation and depression. The programme harnesses the positive power of sport, and uses this to provide the platform for meaningful social interaction. In our work with groups we use a lot of imagery, and I’m keen to look at expanding this, and learning more about using other forms of art stimulation for therapy. I’m also at a stage in my life where I have several (non food) photographic projects that I’ve been working on, and would welcome some form of peer support to help me get the most out of them.
