I am a Cornish fine artist working with photography, moving image and text. My work is largely focused in the Cornish landscape, showing female bodies that move disjointedly through various scenes, performing with the landscape and allowing ‘body’ to become synonymous for both human and land.
The basis of my work is discomfort in the body, the way that bodies occupy space and a quest for escapism. My works deals with the search for belonging when feeling estranged from your own body. For me, this comes both from the societal pressures of being a woman and also dealing with multiple chronic illnesses that rule my life and take away my sense of autonomy.
