Bio:
Arts and health Practitioner -facilitator and educator.

I am an arts and health practitioner with a background in nursing (RN) and & psychotherapy (MA Arts Psychotherapy).

I have been using the arts in healthcare and education for twenty years in NHS  and voluntary settings and have a keen belief in the transformational power of the arts. e.g. Visual Arts Training, Dismantling the Taboo around Death workshops (2012-2018).

I am interested in training clinicians and non- clinicians to increase understanding and awareness of the research evidence and the vital role the arts can play in healthcare.  I believe training that is designed and delivered collaboratively by a clinicians and artists can best brings home the power of the arts in health.

The introduction of Social Prescribing (SP) in the NHS Long Term Plan provides a serious opportunity for arts in health care education as a core component of SP and I am keen to network with artists.

I contributed to the APPG on Arts, Health and Wellbeing (End of Life group) and subsequent Inquiry Report ‘Creative Health: The Arts for Health and Wellbeing’  in 2017

In 2014 I was awarded a Winston Chuchill Fellowship to research \"Improving Communication Training and Compassionate Care using Arts based methods\".
