This event is a part of our Crystallised Intelligence series of events running during Creativity & Wellbeing Week, exploring the value of artists whose work focuses on their lived experiences of health, illness & disability.

Join us in this creative workshop with artist Monique Jackson which explores her lived experience of Long Covid and is inspired by the radical historic AIDS /HIV LGBTQ+ activist movements.

Monique became unwell with a suspected infection of COVID -19 in March 2020 and experienced intermittent long term symptoms thereafter.

Monique created the online artwork Still Ill Corona Diary, an online graphic journal illustrating her experiences in order to raise visibility of the condition of Long Covid. Monique has since been commissioned to create graphic content about Long Covid including for researchers at Imperial College London and an illustrated chapter in the 'Long Covid Survial Guide', published in 2022, The Experiment NYC.

Monique is an advocate for charity Long Covid Support and works as an artist, facilitator and public speaker.

This session will be centred on self reflection, storytelling and identifying / shared themes relating to our collective experience of the impact of the COVID 19 pandemic and understanding of the condition Long Covid today.

The session will involve group discussion and collage making to address the question 'What does Long Covid mean for us now?
